Some information from the wonderful owners and makers of RAH Soap:
We are a husband & wife team, Nick and Sarah, who enjoy working together creatively; almost as much as we enjoy our cats, Paul and Logan, and our dog, Elmer. For me, soap making started out as a hobby; born from an interest in all-things-crafty, and nurtured by experience working part-time in a soap-supply store in Bellingham, Washington. Soaping quickly became a favorite past time, and
between filling requests for family and friends and making enough to cover holiday gifts, it made its way into being a regular part of our life. As Nick said after his first real soap shower, “there are too few words that can adequately describe the difference between sudsing with a real, all-natural, handmade bar of soap, and the commercial soaps I’ve grown up using”. After trying (and failing) more than a few batches over the years, we eventually decided to launch RAH Soap. It felt almost ‘natural’ (pun fully intended) to combine our interests in herbalism, health, and ecology with our crafting past times. The result is RAH Soap – Real, All-natural, Handmade home, bath, and beauty products that are eco-friendly, and benefit body and mind. It is our way of staying true to ourselves, each other, our community and our environment, and we hope everyone has a chance to try (and a has a similar reaction to) our soap in the future.
We feel that making healthy choices starts with education, and it is not a coincidence that the more we know, the more we care. For example, one of the shocking research discoveries that contributed to our decision to start the business: according to the FDA, the majority of commercial cosmetic companies aren’t allowed to call their products “Soap,”, often labeling them as “beauty bar,” “body bar,” or “cleansing bar”. And by majority, they mean over 99%. These soaps are typically synthetic detergents with anti-scum additives, as well as preservatives and other harmful chemicals linked to
developmental disorders, skin conditions and allergic reactions, and cancers (e.g. tryclosan). While much research is still needed for the FDA to prohibit potentially harmful chemicals, we have now had the opportunity to see first-hand what changing someone’s soap can do for their health, and we figure it can’t be a bad thing to get a head-start on the FDA.
Natural bar soap is an excellent eco-friendly and travel friendly option that is long lasting and can be used for multiple purposes such as shaving, shampoo, body soap, hand soap, and facial soap. Using natural bar soap is one step closer to creating an eco-friendly lifestyle.

–Onyx Activated Charcoal bar: This is our Best Selling Bar! Leaves your skin silky smooth, great for acne, and by far the best clean you’ll get from any bar soap. Highly absorptive activated charcoal helps to extract toxins and impurities from the skin. Our ONYX bar is paired with Tea Tree, Eucalyptus, Neem, & Lavender essential oils, as well as Green Zeolite clay and Bentonite clay for extra oil absorption & mild exfoliation. It also makes an excellent shaving bar, especially for skin types prone to ingrown hairs.
–Texas Honey: This bar is unscented and palm oil free, we have substituted the skin loving creaminess of rendered pork fat (aka Lard) from our friends at Fort Dodge Farms instead of palm oil. Pork tallow adds more conditioning properties and improves the creamy lather of the soap, making it even better suited for dry and sensitive skin types. Honey is a natural humectant and forms a protective layer on the skin, trapping moisture and locking it within. The anti-bacterial & antioxidant properties of honey help to heal wounds, clear acne, & reverse skin damage (we have heard from several customers that this bar works great on eczema). This bar is unscented, but maintains the sweet scent of honey and cocoa butter. We love it, and hope you do to!
