Do you want to bring a zero waste store to your community but are unsure where to start? Do you need some simple tips and guidance to point you in the right direction? This four part online class will cover the most important information you will need to get your idea up and running in your community.

Topics covered include:

  • Creating your brand (with worksheets and templates to guide you!)
  • Using social media to broaden your reach
  • How to conduct market research
  • How to create a business plan (with templates!)
  • How to select products and start relationships with vendors
  • Are you ready to concept test? How to organize your first pop-up
  • What are the different types of funding and how to secure it

In this class you will be placed on teams with others currently working towards opening their own zero waste shop. These teams will have weekly check-ins to explore ideas and provide feedback.

This course is entirely online and will be most beneficial to you if you can attend live, so that you can ask questions and engage with others. If you cannot attend live, you will still be able to view the course content. This class will June 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th from 7:30pm CST to 9:00pm.

Description

Amber successfully launched Tare Market, with her Co-Creator Kate, earlier this year. Amber and Kate had a passion for the environment and wanted to help others live more sustainably.

Amber didn’t have people to turn to when she had questions about opening a zero waste shop – she often had to do hours and hours of research to move Tare Market forward. Many times she wished she had someone to talk to about the business, because having someone to learn from and bounce ideas off of can be so helpful in this process.

Tare Market is a wonderful asset to the Twin Cities community and is doing well. Amber hopes to pass on her knowledge to others who want to spread the word of zero waste and open their own shops. Join her in this course!
